ShotSpotter

Gunshot Detection

A drone on the way when gunfire is detected.

About this integration

ShotSpotter by SoundThinking is an acoustic gunshot detection system. Its sensor network detects gunfire and alerts agencies to the precise location.

With BRINC LiveOps, each ShotSpotter gunfire alert arrives in the drone dispatch queue with its location. A drone can be on its way before a 911 call comes in.

Officers see the scene from above before they enter it. Thermal cameras can help find victims, suspects, or shell casings, so teams know what to expect on arrival.

Available now for agencies with an active ShotSpotter subscription. Setup is coordinated with BRINC.

Benefits

  • Gunfire alerts reach LiveOps with the location of the detected shots
  • A drone can launch before a 911 call about the incident comes in
  • Officers see the scene from above before they enter it
  • Drones can send thermal and visual views of the scene before officers arrive

How It Works

  1. The BRINC onboarding team connects your ShotSpotter alerts to BRINC LiveOps.
  2. When ShotSpotter detects gunfire, the alert appears in the LiveOps dispatch queue with its location.
  3. A telepilot launches a drone to the location and streams live and thermal video to responding officers.

Requirements

An active ShotSpotter subscription at your agency.

A BRINC LiveOps account with admin access.

A BRINC drone set up for Drone as First Responder operations, such as Guardian or Responder.
